WHEN

CHRONIC PAINFUL NEUROPATHIES BECOME PART OF LIFE

Nerozap Gel
Gabapentin (6% w/w) + Lidocaine (5% w/w) + Baclofen (2% w/w) + Methyl paraben (0.10% w/w)+ Propyl paraben (0.05% w/w) in a gel base

Reduces pain and improves the measures of quality of life and mood in patients with a wide range of neuropathic pain syndromes.

• Works by inhibiting calcium influx and subsequent release of excitatory neurotransmitters.”

• Has shown better tolerance than nortriptyline in the treatment of post herpetic neuralgia.

• Has shown to significantly lower pain intensity with direct drug action on painful skin.

  • Gabapentin: An anti-epileptic drug that reduces pain by affecting calcium channels in nerve cells
  • Lidocaine: A local anesthetic that blocks pain signals from nerves to the brain
  • Baclofen: A muscle relaxant that relieves muscle stiffness and spasms

How Baclofen + Gabapentin + Lidocaine / Lignocaine works

  • Baclofen belongs to the muscle relaxant class of medicines that reduces localized muscle spasticity by acting directly on the muscle tissue.
  • Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that alleviates neuropathic pain by modulating nerve activity in the skin and underlying tissues.
  • Lidocaine / Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic that provides immediate pain relief by numbing the area and blocking nerve signals to reduce pain sensation.

How Nerozap Gel works

Nerozap Gel is a combination of three medicines: Gabapentin, Lidocaine, and Baclofen. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing the sensation of pain. Baclofen is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm without reduction in strength. This improves pain and movement of muscles. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).

Nerozap Gel is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of neuropathic pain. It works by first cooling and then warming up the skin. Thus, it calms the damaged or overactive nerves by acting on the brain, thereby decreasing the sensation of pain.

Nerozap Gel is for external use only. You should use this in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Clean and dry the affected area before applying this medicine to the skin. You should always wash your hands after applying it unless hands are the affected area.

There are no major side effects associated with this medicine, but it can cause some application site burning, irritation, itching or redness. However, these side effects are temporary and usually resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you.
